What is CGPA in Diploma Education?
The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) measures your overall academic performance across all completed semesters of your diploma program. It is the credit-weighted average of the SGPAs obtained in each individual semester.
CGPA Formula
CGPA = Σ(SGPA_j × TotalCredits_j) / Σ(TotalCredits_j)
Where TotalCredits_j is the sum of credits for semester j.
Official CGPA to Percentage Conversion
Many government recruitment boards (TSPSC, RRB, SSC) and private employers require percentage marks rather than a 10-point scale. According to standard technical board guidelines:
Equivalent Percentage (%) = (CGPA - 0.75) × 10
Example: A student with an 8.50 CGPA translates to (8.50 - 0.75) × 10 = 77.50%.
